HOW TO PROTECT?
The best solution is to cut off the supply. Our products perform the cut in a safe and progressive way.
Permanent overvoltages, also called temporary overvoltages,are caused by a voltage rise above 275V for an indeterminate period of time. The absence of a neutral or a failure of the medium voltage transformer may be some of the causes.
These surges cause damage and destruction of equipment, premature aging and reduced user safety.
Due to the decrease in component size, equipment protection is now even more necessary.
HOW TO PROTECT?
Installing a protector or arrester on the line susceptible to receive the overvoltage.
A rapid and high voltage increase in the network, usually caused by atmospheric phenomena, can cause serious deterioration and destruction of equipment, malfunctioning and reduction of its useful life, as well as interruption of supply to users.
When the protector is installed, it shunts the excess energy to ground, thus limiting the value of the voltage peak to a value bearable by the electrical equipment connected to the network.
This type of overvoltage also occurs in telephone, communication, measurement and data lines.
COMBINED SOLUTION
We have developed a combined POP + DPS solution for both types of surge.
In Toscano we are aware of the needs that exist in terms of transient and permanent overvoltages. Therefore, we have developed a line of products that protect against both types of surges.
This type of solution provides effective and reliable protection.
They are compact units that incorporate pre-wiring, reducing assembly time and facilitating installation. Our system allows the replacement of only the worn or defective part, without having to replace the complete equipment.
VEHICLE RECHARGING
Toscano is committed to electric vehicles and is doing its bit to protect the planet.
With the advent of the electric vehicle, recharging points to replenish the battery are coming. And with these the regulations and obligations to protect against surges and possible problems that may cause failures in the network or the recharging supply.
Toscano’s product line focused on surge protection in electric vehicle recharging complies with the ITC-BT-52 standard, covering recharging when there is a commercial transaction, individual protections for each recharging point, installation of omnipolar cut-off devices and complying with the ICE-EN 63052-2019 standard.
PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM
Toscano offers ECO-DC panels to protect photovoltaic installations from overvoltages.
TheECO-DC range, for switching and protection in photovoltaic power generation installations, provides solutions for overcurrent and transient overvoltage protection in photovoltaic and other renewable energy installations.
This series of protectors for photovoltaic systems has been developed to protect against discharges and surges produced by lightning strikes on the DC side of such systems.
The protection consists of three stages of varistors equipped with thermal disconnectors that indicate through a window the failure of the element.

Protección contra sobretensiones temporales o permanentes se deberá instalar los dispositivos de protección contra las mismas que actúen desconectando la instalación alimentada desde la red eléctrica que cubre la sobretensión.

GENERALS
According to ITC-BT-23 of the REBT, there are situations in which the use of transient overvoltage protection is mandatory. The installation of devices against this type of overvoltage is recommended in those provinces with at least 20 storm days per year and highly recommended in those with at least 25 days per year.
When the installation is in an elevated location, it will be considered as an adequate safety criterion to choose the level immediately above the one assigned to the province.
